Research Projects
Our core service is doing research. The type of research, its scope, and what will be produced as a result will vary depending on each project. We divide projects into three categories:
- Tier-1 Research Projects: these projects require extensive original field research (more than 20 hours) and/or generate more than 35 pages of finished materials.
- Tier-2 Research Projects: these projects require mostly library research (or less than 20 hours of field research) and/or generate less than 35 pages of finished materials.
- Tier-3 Research Projects: these projects are essentially gathering information with minimal analysis or processing.
Decisions over which projects to take on, and how to prioritize them, are be made by the CEO in consultation with an advisory board. The advisory board consists of mission executives, pastors, and/or academics who will guide the approval process for new research projects. All materials produced in the course of a project will be the sole intellectual property of MissioLogic, unless it is agreed on ahead of time that a customer will have control of specified materials.
Costs
All research services will be offered free of charge. Possible exceptions will include projects that require significant costs like overseas travel (particularly if funds for projects that year have already been assigned). In such a case, we will negotiate with the customer to cover some of the project costs. Instead of charging for our research, we will request that (if clients find our research beneficial and/or believe in the vision of our organization) they donate to the endowment fund to grow our capacity to provide these services.
Consulting
Another way we can contribute to the well-being of missionally engaged organizations is by providing consulting services. Leaders sometimes find it useful to have outside opinions when they are making key decisions. And when they are working on a major project, sometimes you need extra people with specific skill sets. We offer two kinds of consulting services: yearly retainer and project-based.
Non-profits and churches can hire our team on retainer to be available for general questions. When their leadership has an issue that they want external input on, our team will be available via phone and email during normal business hours to get them a considered response in a timely fashion.
On occasion, the organizations we serve may find it helpful to have more sustained interaction to help work through a particular problem or project. These consultations would go beyond the sorts of quick responses that the retainer service is designed to provide. It could include designing and implementing new programs or dealing with a particular problem in the organization. These sorts of projects would benefit from missiological expertise without having a research component.
Costs
Clients will be charged for consulting services. The retainer program will start at $250 per month (paid at the beginning of the period). Project-based consulting will be billed hourly, with rates negotiated on a project-by-project basis (with due consideration given to the available resources of the client, as well as the time constraints of MissioLogic).
